HSBC/NYAA Youth Environmental Awards 2009
- Six young environmentalists (three winners, three merit award recipients) were recognized for their outstanding contribution towards environmental protection and nature conservation at this event.
- Soh Zhi Hao Jasper (RP conservation IG President 08/09, 3rd year DENV student) was awarded the HSBC/NYAA Youth Environmental (Merit) Award 2009.
- Sabrina Choo (RP Conservation IG Secretary 08/09, 3rd year DBIO student) was shortlisted for final selection interview.
- Other RP representatives include: Tay Jit Ling Jackline, (RP Conservation IG Publicity Manager 08/09, 3rd year DMTS student) and Kek Siyu Rachel, (RP Conservation IG Secretary 09/10, 2nd year DMTS student).

RP makes it to the finals of the Singapore Junior Water Prize (SJWP)
The SJWP (http://soe.np.edu.sg/sjwp/) is a national competition to pick a winning team to represent Singapore to vie for the international Stockholm Junior Water Prize in Sweden. Like the Stockholm Junior Water Prize, the SJWP aims to promote awareness and interest in water and environmental issues among young people. The competition is organised by Lien Foundation and Ngee Ann Polytechnic, and supported by the Public Utilities Board (PUB).
After months of hard work, the RP team made it to the finals and was awarded the Merit Award with their project: Removal of Arsenic through the Absorption of Tropical Ferns. The five other teams in the finals are: Hwa Chong Institution, , Raffles Institution, NUS High School of Math & Science, Temasek Polytechnic, Dunman High School.
